Objective and nature of service
Focus Budyy facilitates healthy academic and focus habits through social accountability and gamification. Virtual punishments and pet states are motivational metaphors and are not intended to cause genuine distress.
Session requirements and progression
A standard study session must last at least 40 minutes to count toward the Daily Streak. Sessions below 40 minutes do not contribute to the streak.
Failure to complete a 40-minute session within a 24-hour cycle may place the virtual pet in a neglected state with reduced happiness and sustenance.
Virtual pet health and lifecycle
Four consecutive days of inactivity may result in Deceased Status. Three focus breaches in one session may trigger a Poisoned state requiring a 10-minute remedial extension. Five breaches may result in immediate Deceased Status.
Cancelling three scheduled sessions before completion may also result in the pet expiring. Pausing for too long may cause the pet to starve.
Buddy system and shared accountability
By joining a Budyy Session, users accept shared accountability. If a participant ends early, linked Buddies may receive a distress alert and associated pets may enter a Poisoned state. A 10-minute extended focus period can be used as remediation.
Revival and restoration
A pet in Deceased Status can be revived either by spending 250 Petbits on a life potion or by completing three hours of Deep Focus, which may be completed in one or multiple sessions.
Virtual currency — Petbits
Petbits are earned through verified focus sessions. They have no real-world monetary value and cannot be purchased with fiat currency.
Device restrictions — PetLock
Users may voluntarily restrict access to selected applications during study sessions. Users are responsible for configuring their own block lists and selecting solo or Budyy session modes.
